Lauren and Seamus seem to really enjoy eachother's company now. Seamus (australian shepherd) sleeps next to her crate at night, and when he get up to move around, she protest.
We have been super busy at our house, so I haven't been able to do much with Lauren the past few days. She has taken it in stride. She has been able to be outside and play with the dogs a bit more than usual with the nice weather. Good timing mother nature.
She also loves to cuddle, and it is funny to watch her burrow into a blanket to make a little sleeping nest. She flip the blanket up with her head and tries to burrow in. Very cute. I will get some more pictures this weekend, maybe.

Settling In
Lauren is settling in to our routine. She was a bit nervous at first, but now is just one of the dogs. Her official role has become commentator on Seamus and Chewy's wrestling matches. She stands near and barks at them wrestling. She sometimes likes to try and play by intiating a game of tug-of-war with Seamus. She usually gets spooked and runs away before it really gets started though.
She sleeps in the crate at night very well now, but still won't go in willingly. In fact, she recognizes the word crate and goes to hide when I say it.
All the family is enjoying the cooler weather.

First Night
Lauren had a good first night with us. She objected to being crated at first, and not having her foster brothers be crated. She did settle and slept the whole night. She did notice when the first eye-opened by a person in our home and insisted on getting up with her.
Again, it is always nice when you get housebroken fosters. She is getting into the routine of going outside now, and she seems to sort of circle in front of the door when she needs to go out.

Welcome, Lauren!
Lauren came to our home today. She was a bit nervous, but felt better if she was close to people. She wasn't sure about the crazy acting australian shepherd foster brother, but the retriever foster brother was deemed ok. You know those aussies, they can't stand it if someone doesn't love them. So, Seamus has persisted, even after being rejected several times. I think he is getting to her.
Nathan has taken particular interest in Lauren, and she seems to enjoy that a lot. She followed him all over the yard tonight, and then around the house. When all three kids were watching a movie tonight, she joined them, at her own pace, under the bed. She wanted to be in the room, but appreciated the privacy that her under bed retreat offered. She has greeted and given everyone in the house a little love. It's nice to see that she is housebroken too! Yay! We look forward to getting to know Lauren better.
